Development of a closed-tube, calcein-based loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay to detect Salmonella spp. in raw meat samples

Salmonella spp. are among the main pathogenic bacteria that cause outbreaks globally. Foodborne infections jeopardize human health and food safety. In order to stop Salmonella outbreaks and agricultural losses, it is essential to conduct proper surveillance using prompt and economical detection techniques across the food animal production chain.
